Three days after the body of a 6-year-old boy was found in a dilapidated structure, the accused has been arrested by the industrial area police. The accused, a 13-year-old minor, confessed to luring the boy into the place promising a toy with the intent of sodomizing him. When the boy threatened to tell his parents about the incident, the accused hit the little boy’s head with a brick, leaving the boy bleeding in the abandoned place.
On December 27, a team of SOG (Special Operation Group) along with TransYamuna and industrial area police recovered the missing boy’s body from the dilapidated structure at Haldi Kalan Mugari village, the area under industrial limits. The police also recovered the blood-stained brick and the accused’s clothes from the site.
The boy went mysteriously missing while playing outside the house. His father then took to the police station to lodge an FIR under sections 366 (kidnapping), 302 (murder), 201 (disappearance of evidence), 377 (sodomy) of the IPC, and sections 5M and 6 of the POSCO Act.
A station officer, Mahesh Mishra, when asked about the incident, said to the newspapers, “We found the body of the boy from the abandoned area of the village on Thursday, whereas the evidence has also been recorded.” He further remarked on the investigations: “After abducting the accused, he confessed to luring the boy into the place with the name of a toy, and when the boy threatened to tell his parents, he hit his head with the brick.”
The accused was also known to the family, as the boy and he were playmates, and he was a frequent visitor to the victim’s house. The further process will be taken care of by the juvenile, given the age of the accused.
