September 21, 2024: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will commence his three-day visit to the United States of America on 21st September to participate in the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware. The fourth Quad Summit is being hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden, and the next host of the Quad Summit is expected to be India in 2025.

As per an official press release, the leaders at the summit will review the progress achieved by the Quad over the past year and set the agenda for the future. This will be done “to assist the countries of the Indo-Pacific region in meeting their development goals and aspirations.”

During his three-day visit, PM Modi is scheduled to participate in the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit, an Indian Community event, and address the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the UNGA.

“I look forward to joining my colleagues, President Biden, Prime Minister Albanese, and Prime Minister Kishida, for the Quad Summit. The forum has emerged as a key group of like-minded countries working for peace, progress, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. My meeting with President Biden will allow us to review and identify new pathways to further deepen the India-U.S. Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for the benefit of our people and the global good,” the Prime Minister tweeted.

The Quad, or Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, comprises India, the U.S., Japan, and Australia.

“I am eagerly looking forward to engaging with the Indian diaspora and important American business leaders, who are key stakeholders and provide vibrancy to the unique partnership between the largest and the oldest democracies of the world,” he added.

PM Modi will also hold a bilateral meeting with President Biden. Briefing the media on Thursday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said the two sides will sign at least two agreements following the talks. One pact will be related to the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF), and the other Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be on the India-U.S. drug framework, he said.

On September 22, PM Modi will travel to New York to attend an Indian Community event, and the next day he is scheduled to participate in and address the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the UNGA in New York, where he will speak to global leaders on the theme “Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow” and engage in discussions to explore mutual interests.
