After years of secret attacks, Iran finally committed a direct one, launching about three hundred and fifty drones and missiles at Israel on April 14, Sunday.
However, more than ninety-nine percent of the bombs were intercepted with help from the US, UK, Jordan, and France. Only a few of them landed in Israeli territory, causing minor damage to a military base and seriously injuring a young girl.
The attack is believed to be in retaliation for Iran bombing Israel’s embassy in Syria on April 1st.
Daniel Hagiri, the chief military spokesperson, said, “Iran, from the beginning of the war, has wanted only one thing: to escalate the region. Until now, she worked through her proxies, but now she has revealed herself, trying to escalate the region.”
While some analysts suggest that Iran’s attack was measured or “calibrated,” the seriousness of the incident cannot be ignored. Although the attack failed, Iran still succeeded.
Iran’s military chief warned Israel, “If the Zionist regime takes any action against Iran, our next operation will be much bigger than this.”
In response to the attack, the war Cabinet of Israel held a meeting to discuss their next move on Sunday afternoon. The War Cabinet Minister, Benny Gance, informed, “We will build a regional coalition and exact the price from Iran in a fashion and timing that are right for us.”
The situation remains tense as both nations weigh their next steps amid growing international concern over the escalating conflict.
