How long must this go on? How many more Nirbhayas, how many more Tillotamas, and how many more Priyanka Reddys must there be? These predators are hunting our mothers, our daughters, and our sisters in broad daylight! And do you know what’s truly heartbreaking? It’s us! Our spines have shattered, crumbling under the weight of this horror, yet we remain numb! We stay silent, still blaming the victims of these unspeakable crimes.

A doctor—a life-saving healer—was brutally raped and murdered. How? Her bones were broken, and her body was marked with over 50 bite wounds—the same bites we use to eat our food. Her pelvic bone was shattered, and still, the government remains silent! They offer 10 lakhs, as if that could ever measure the worth of a life so cruelly taken. Is this what a female Chief Minister has to say? Where is your morality? Where is your humanity?

Meanwhile, the criminals walk free, searching for their next prey! How many more Durgas must be sacrificed? How many more families will shed tears of blood? How many more sisters will be hunted by these hyenas? Today, I am ashamed to be a man. I am ashamed to be a son, a lover, and a human being.

It’s high time we, as human beings, stand up—stand by our partners, our daughters, our sisters, our friends—and help them identify these demons!

May my motherland be freed from these hyenas, and may she smile with the joy of a nation free from rape.
