Etawah Murder Case: Woman and Adopted Son Arrested for Husband’s Killing
Kanpur: A woman in Etawah district conspired with her adopted son to murder her husband, leading to their arrest and imprisonment. The police are currently searching for a third suspect involved in the crime.
Investigations revealed that the woman, Anjali Jatav, had an illicit relationship with her adopted son, Rahul Pal. When her husband, Manoj Jatav, confronted her, she plotted his murder. The incident took place on Friday night in Graphchi village under the jurisdiction of the Usrahar police station. After the murder, Anjali filed a false report, accusing the villagers of being responsible.
SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma stated that Manoj, suspecting his wife’s relationship with Rahul, had installed CCTV cameras in their home. Four months prior to the murder, Anjali adopted Rahul as part of her plan to kill Manoj. Rahul, who works in the clothing business in Faridabad, Haryana, coordinated the attack with Vikas Kumar Jatav, a villager.
On the night of November 15, Rahul and Vikas attacked Manoj while he was asleep, using a sickle and a wooden bat. After the murder, Vikas fled with two mobile phones and the CCTV system’s DVR.
During interrogation, Anjali and Rahul confessed to the crime. The police recovered the murder weapons based on their statements and placed both in judicial custody. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend Vikas Kumar Jatav, the third suspect.
