On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of the late superstar Dev Anand, actress Zeenat Aman posted images on social media of two of her favorite films featuring the late hero. Zeenat described the late iconic actor as sophisticated and suave, saying she is happy that he is still remembered and adored by everyone.

Zeenat has appeared alongside Dev Anand in a number of movies, but just two of those movies—Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971) and Heera Panna (1973)—were box office successes. She also posted stills from the two flicks, describing them as two of her favorites. Zeenat penned a long caption, “Celebrating 100 years of Dev Saab. He was an unmatched powerhouse who was stylish, suave, and prolific. And what talent and generosity! He started careers, including mine, gathered creative minds, and produced pictures that appealed to audiences of all ages. The honoring of his legacy a century after his birth makes my heart happy. I’ve received a ton of requests recently for remarks regarding him, but I don’t really have much else to say.”

The actor concluded her caption by saying, “Though I posted a three-part series about him, I can’t resist the nostalgia of these two frames from our initial films together. My elder fans will recognize them right away, but I’m not so sure about you younger lot.”

She described how she got a part in Hare Rama Hare Krishna.

“Dev Saab and his Navketan crew were casting for Hare Rama Hare Krishna at the moment,” according to a portion of her caption. “O P Ralhan generously proposed that we meet. I can well recall what I was wearing that day: a fawn-colored skirt, a fitting yellow top, and yellow-framed spectacles. Since I was still in my adolescent years, my mother was there for the conference. She spoke first while I responded when spoken to and filled my pipe with tobacco. After the meeting was over, the phone began to jangle a few days later,” the actor added.

In earlier blogs, Zeenat has talked about Dev Anand’s declaration of love for her in his autobiography “Romancing with Life.” She had expressed her embarrassment at this.
