Woman from Madhya Pradesh Arrested for Stealing Purse in Chandigarh Market

Chandigarh: UT police arrested a 42-year-old woman, identified as Vidya, from Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, for allegedly stealing a purse in the Sector 19 market. The accused was presented before a local court, which remanded her to 14 days of judicial custody.
According to the complaint filed by Neelu, a resident of Sector 32, she was shopping in the Sector 19 market on Saturday when an unidentified person stole her purse containing ₹500 in cash and important documents. She raised an alarm and contacted the police through helpline number 112.
Following her statement, the police launched an investigation, leading to Vidya’s arrest. The stolen purse and documents were recovered from her possession, and a theft case was registered against her.
