SHO Malkiat Singh reported that in her complaint, Samkali, a resident of Dera Bassi, stated she had traveled to Sirhind with her four-year-old son, Yash, to visit her sister, Pooja. That evening, Yash and Pooja’s children went to partake in langar at Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup Sahib.
When the children did not return, Samkali searched the gurdwara for them. Her sister’s children informed her that a middle-aged woman in yellow clothing had taken Yash, promising to buy him new clothes from a nearby shop. After failing to locate the child, Samkali and her sister reported the incident to the police.
According to the SHO, separate police teams were quickly deployed to review CCTV footage in the area. Within four hours, a police team apprehended the suspect, identified as Jyoti, a resident of Delhi’s Pitampura area who was found with the child. Yash was returned to his family, and Jyoti was taken into custody. Police have filed a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
