Tirupati: The Tirumala Two Town police have registered a case against a woman accused of defrauding a group of devotees from Hyderabad. The woman, identified as K. Navya Sri, a resident of Tirupati, reportedly promised to arrange darshan and accommodation at Tirumala for the group.
According to officials from the TTD vigilance and security wing, Navya Sri is a known tout with a history of involvement in black-market activities. In this instance, she allegedly approached a devotee named Venkateswarulu from Hyderabad and assured him of securing five Suprabhatam seva tickets, six VIP break darshan tickets, and accommodation for the pilgrims.
After collecting ₹41,000 from the group, Navya Sri became untraceable and stopped responding to Venkateswarulu’s calls. Following a complaint from the devotee, the TTD vigilance officials filed a formal complaint at the Tirumala Two Town police station, leading to the registration of a case against her. The Tirumala police have launched a search operation to apprehend the absconding suspect.
