A 21-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday evening in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, after allegedly chopping off a man’s genitals and later attempting to slash her wrist with the same weapon.
Vyom Bindal, Circle Officer of the Civil Lines police station, reported receiving information about the incident around 4:30 PM. Both individuals sustained injuries during the altercation and were admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
Preliminary investigations revealed that both the man and the woman are residents of Charthawal village in Kulhedi and had been in a relationship for eight years. The woman told police she was upset after learning that the man had arranged to marry someone else. “I was hurt by his decision, so I asked him to meet me one last time. During the meeting, I became angry, attacked him, and then tried to harm myself,” she reportedly told investigators.
The exact location of the incident remains unclear, as the woman claims it occurred in a hotel room, while the man alleges it happened inside a car. “We are working to ascertain the details. The man is currently undergoing treatment,” Bindal added.
