“Who Spends 250 Cr on This Stupidity?” – Kangana Ranaut Bashes Karan Johar Over ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani’!

Bollywood actress and filmmaker Kangana Ranaut keeps making headlines for her statements. This time, she has commented on Karan Johar’s recently released film ‘Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. In a lengthy post, Kangana targeted Karan and wrote that he is copying films from the 90s, which is not acceptable.
Kangana took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday and wrote, “The audience can’t be fooled anymore. They have rejected atrocious and creatively poor films full of fake sets and over-the-top fake costumes. Who dresses like this in real life? Also, where are tacky houses like those in Delhi? What rubbish! Shame on Karan Johar for copying his own vintage movies from the nineties. How did he spend 250 cr on this stupidity? Who gives them this kind of money while real talent struggles to get funds?”
Kangana also compared ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani’ to last week’s Hollywood release, Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’, based on the life of nuclear physicist J Robert Oppenheimer. She wrote, “Indian audiences watched a 3-hour-long film on the origin of nuclear weapons and intricacies of atomic science, and here we have the same family melodrama. Why does he need ₹250 crore to make a daily soap…? Shame on you, Karan Johar, for making the same thing nth time. Calling yourself the flag bearer of Indian cinema and perpetually regressing it. Don’t waste funds; it’s not an easy time for the industry. Retire now and let young filmmakers make new and revolutionary films.”
Kangana also schooled Ranveer on her Instagram Stories. She wrote, “My sincere advice to Ranveer Singh: stop getting influenced by Karan Johar and his dressing sense. He should dress up like a normal human being as Dharm Ji (Dharmendra) or Vinod Khanna Ji dressed in their days. Indian people can’t identify with a cartoon-looking person calling himself a hero. Please see all South heroes; see how they dress up and carry themselves with great dignity and integrity. They look manly and dignified. Don’t ruin the culture in our country.”
Talking about the work front, Kangana has two films in the bucket. She is going to be seen in ‘Tejas’, in which the actress will be playing the role of a pilot. On the other hand, in ‘Emergency’, in which she will be portraying the role of Indira Gandhi.
Meanwhile, “Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani,” helmed by Karan Johar, has grossed over 11 crores on opening day. It stars an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chaudhary, and others.
