In an effort to improve accessibility, WhatsApp has made available to all users a new tool that lets them easily pin up to three messages at once within a discussion. The ability to pin more than one message was previously restricted; this change significantly improves the way discussions are organized.

All WhatsApp users now have access to a new feature that makes it simple to pin up to three messages at once within a chat, as part of an attempt to increase accessibility. The prior restriction on the ability to pin multiple messages has been lifted, greatly enhancing the organization of conversations.

Both WhatsApp Head Will Cathcart and CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg revealed this feature via their personal WhatsApp Channels. In December of last year, pinned messages were initially made available in group and individual conversations.

This feature works with all message types: text, photographs, and polls. This makes pinned messages a great method to quickly find critical information, such as a friend’s address or the location of a planned group excursion.

To pin a message, users only need to long-press on it and select the “Pin” option. In order to keep conversations organized and relevant, users may also select how long a message remains pinned, with choices spanning from 24 hours to 30 days.

It is important to keep in mind that permanent pinning is not an option for messages that are pinned for extended periods of time, such as addresses, which must be re-pinned every 30 days. Instead, using the contact information menu, users may select which messages to “Star” and see them. Any user of WhatsApp may make use of the new feature.

Additionally, WhatsApp has released an updated beta version of its messaging app with an improved app lock function. Beyond biometric identification, this most recent update—which is now accessible to a limited number of users—offers other alternatives for authentication. Users who are enrolled in WhatsApp’s beta program will be able to test this functionality. Now, users may choose to utilize additional distinctive identifiers, such as the passcode on their smartphone. App locks used to only work with biometric identification, such as fingerprint or face recognition.

Some people may notice an additional feature in the Android 2.24.6.16 version in addition to the new app lock functionality. It consists of chat filters that show up at the top of their list of conversations. By showing just certain kinds of chats, these filters let users organize their chat view more efficiently. In order to facilitate rapid access to a list of group chats and to display unread discussions, WhatsApp has introduced specialized filters.
