“We Are Like Father – Daughter”: Ameesha Patel On Feud With Gadar 2 Director Anil Sharma

Similar to the stories portrayed in films, relationships between actors and producers in the cinema industry often encompass diverse aspects. A few days ago, actress Ameesha Patel raised allegations of mismanagement against the production house of Gadar 2’s director and producer, Anil Sharma.
In a tweet, she pointed out that many make-up artists and costume designers working on the film had not received their wages. Subsequently, during the trailer launch of Gadar 2 in Mumbai on Wednesday night, Ameesha characterized her association with Anil Sharma as that of a father and daughter. She stated, “We have a father-daughter relationship. We do have our share of disagreements. He keeps pestering me, and I keep arguing with him, even blocking him on Instagram and WhatsApp.”
Regarding her involvement in Gadar 2, Ameesha said, “When Anil ji narrated the story of the first Gadar (Gadar: Ek Prem Katha), many people questioned why and how I would take up such a role, believing that I couldn’t portray the character of a mother. However, I embraced it as a challenge. The film was difficult for me, but my director, Anil Ji, patiently worked with me on every aspect, including dialogue and appearance.”
She continued, “Some people had called Gadar a ‘gutter’ before its arrival in cinemas. This thing touched my heart very much. I had a similar question for Gadar 2 as well: how will the girl from Lazy Lamhein (a bold song picturized on Ameesha) play the role of a mother to a 20-plus-year-old boy? But I again decided that I had to do it.” Ameesha and Sunny Deol will be seen reprising their roles as Sakina and Tara Singh in the film, slated to release on August 11. The film also stars Utkarsh Sharma and Simrat Kaur in pivotal roles. The trailer was released on July 27 in a grand event.
