Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has spoken out against the media’s insensitive coverage of Shefali Jariwala’s death. The 42-year-old actress, known for her role in Kaanta Laga and Bigg Boss 13, passed away on Friday night after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest.
Varun Dhawan took to Instagram to express his disappointment with the media’s handling of the situation. “Again, one more passing of a soul being insensitively covered by the media,” he wrote. “I just don’t understand why you have to cover someone’s grief. Everyone looks so uncomfortable with this. How is this benefiting anyone? & my request to my friends in the media, this isn’t the way someone would want their final journey covered.”
The paparazzi’s aggressive coverage of Shefali Jariwala’s death and funeral has sparked widespread criticism. Her husband, Parag Tyagi, was seen pleading with the media to leave him alone and respect their family’s grief.
Shefali Jariwala’s final rites were performed in Mumbai on Saturday, with friends and family gathering to pay their last respects. The cause of her death is yet to be confirmed, with the Mumbai Police sending her body for a post-mortem examination.
