UT69’s Trailer Is Out with a Glimpse of Raj Kundra’s Life Inside Jail

The upcoming movie UT69, starring Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra, will hit theatres on November 3. On Wednesday, the UT69 trailer was released. Raj plays the main character in the movie, which is based on his life. Raj’s time in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail due to his suspected involvement in a case involving pornographic content is partially depicted in the video. In reality, the trailer begins with “breaking news” regarding Raj’s 2021 arrest.
Raj was taken into custody in July 2021 on suspicion of creating pornographic recordings. In September of the same year, he was released on bail. He violated the Information Technology Act, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act, and the Indian Penal Code. Whether it’s being called out as Shilpa Shetty’s spouse, Raj finds it difficult to cope with the continual mockery from other prisoners and jail staff that inhabit the trailer. At one point in the movie, Raj, who is making his acting debut, is also put in a predicament akin to a stampede. The surprising friendships Raj makes while incarcerated are also depicted in the trailer.
“UT69 takes a satirical look at the real-life incidents of businessman Raj Kundra’s days spent in Arthur Road jail,” the directors wrote in a statement posted on YouTube alongside the teaser. He remembers this as the hardest time in his life. The movie is based on a true story and shows this period of his life.
Raj had teased the release date of his movie UT69 earlier this month with a funny video that included stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui and director Farah Khan. The fact that the movie is based on a true story was disclosed by Raj.
For me, this goes beyond merely a movie! About his feature debut, Raj Kundra remarked, “Although it’s a kind of resolution, you will see through my eyes a narrative about survival, friendships, and relationships within India’s most infamously crowded detention centre, also known as Arthur Road Jail.”
