Gonda News: Following the Aligarh case, another shocking incident has come to light in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman from Gonda district eloped with her daughter’s fiancé. The daughter’s wedding was scheduled for May 9. But before the ceremony, the mother-in-law fell in love with the future son-in-law, and the two fled together.

The incident took place in the Khodare police station area of Gonda. Usha Devi (44), a resident of Habeerpur, went missing from her home at 7:00 AM on April 25 without informing anyone. After the family’s extensive search failed, a missing person’s report was filed on April 27.

Usha Devi had arranged her daughter’s wedding with Ram Swaroop, a young man from Bhuira village in the Dubaulia police station area of Basti. After the engagement, both families began interacting. Over time, Ram Swaroop refused to marry Usha’s daughter. Instead, he reportedly began speaking frequently with Usha herself.

It is alleged that on April 25, Ram Swaroop fled with Usha Devi. After his refusal, Usha had arranged her daughter’s marriage with another man, set for May 9. The police traced and brought back the runaway pair within 72 hours and handed them over to their families.

Upon returning, Usha Devi said, “I was not in a stable mental state, which is why I went away with my future son-in-law, Ram Swaroop. Earlier, I had arranged my daughter’s marriage with him, but he later refused. Now my daughter will marry someone else on May 9.”

Her husband, Krishna Kumar, claimed that she was mentally unstable and left home on her own. He denied that she had eloped.
