Ukraine Military Sinks Russian Warship Off the Coast of Crimea

Ukraine’s military claimed on Wednesday to have destroyed and sunk the Russian warship “Caesar Kunikov” off the coast of Crimea in the Black Sea.
The Caesar Kunikov warship, capable of carrying 87 crew members and a part of the Russian Black Sea fleet, was hit by several naval drones, as shown in a video released by Ukrainian military intelligence on Wednesday.
The agency stated that the drones hit the port side of the ship, which suffered critical holes on that side and began to sink. This information has not been confirmed by Russian authorities, who have remained silent, not commenting on the attack.
However, if confirmed, it would be a second embarrassing blow for the Russian Black Sea fleet, as the strike would mark the second successful attack on a Russian warship in two weeks, just 10 days before the two-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion.
On February 1st, Ukrainian sea drones had attacked and struck the Russian warship ‘Ivanovets’ in a nighttime attack, demonstrating the vulnerability of the Russian Black Sea fleet against Ukrainian unmanned naval vessels.
