Two Hitmen Hired by Husband to Kill Wife, Caught in Gunfight

Gautam Buddha Nagar Police arrested two shooters concerning the murder case of a 40-year-old woman from Dadri, Greater Noida, during a shootout on Saturday. The accused were allegedly hired by the woman’s husband to kill her, as he suspected his wife of having an extramarital affair.

The victim, Rajkumari, was shot dead by two assailants on a motorcycle near her residence in Saraswati Vihar, Dadri, on Tuesday. An FIR was lodged soon after by her husband, Pushpendra, at Dadri Police station. However, during the investigation, as new shreds of evidence surfaced, the police started suspecting the husband himself.

The victim used to work as a domestic help and was often suspected by her husband of having an extramarital affair, which was the reason for their frequent and heated fights.

According to the police, caught up in anger, Pushpendra allegedly, with the help of his close friend Kapil Gurjar, hired two hitmen who hail from the same village as Kapil to murder Rajkumari. They offered them 1 lakh for the task, 50,000 in advance, and the rest after the job was done.

The investigators received information that the killers were to get the pending payment in Greater Noida and then head back to Hapur to their native village. The police team intercepted them near the Kot Canal area and arrested the shooters during the open fire initiated by them. The suspects have been identified as Monu Gurjar (27) and Dujana (21) by the police, both from Gohra Alamgirpur village in Hapur district. They were caught with 50,000 cash, the murder weapon (a homemade pistol), along with the motorcycle, said the police.

However, Pushpendra and Kapil are yet to be caught as they are on the run. The police assure to deploy a team in order to capture them as soon as possible.
