Trudeau May Target Canadian Hindus for Political Survival Amid India Tensions
Justin Trudeau might follow Jagmeet Singh’s approach and focus on the Hindus in Canada to secure his political survival. Jagmeet Singh, the NDP leader and former ally of Trudeau, has been targeting Canadian Hindus, accusing them of opposing both Sikhs and Muslims.

To avoid harassment from pro-Khalistani elements backed by Justin Trudeau, six Indian diplomats, led by High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma, have begun preparations to return to India. They are expected to arrive by Saturday afternoon via different, discreet flight routes. India’s diplomatic presence in Canada will be reduced to nine officials, while Canada will still have 15 diplomats in India, even after six were expelled by the Modi government and instructed to leave by Saturday.
Before the diplomatic strain caused by Trudeau’s politics, India had 12 resident diplomats in Ottawa, while Canada had 62 in Delhi. Despite the unwritten rule against targeting diplomats in criminal cases, Trudeau is likely to align with the pro-Khalistani New Democratic Party, led by Jagmeet Singh, and adopt a stance of targeting Canadian Hindus, accusing them of opposition to Sikhs and Muslims to ensure his political survival. He is also expected to seek the backing of other Canadian political parties to hold India responsible for the murder of Khalistan Tiger Force terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, which occurred on June 18, 2023.
With the aim of gaining support from his radical Sikh voter base, Trudeau has also sought the backing of the Anglo-Saxon West by briefing the Five Eyes Alliance on the ongoing diplomatic conflict with India. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Pakistan and its deep state are reportedly working through the National Council of Canadian Muslims to further strain India-Canada relations. Observers believe that to survive politically, Trudeau will use the Foreign Interference Commission and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to accuse India in the Nijjar case.
A top diplomat questioned Trudeau’s claims, asking, “If the Nijjar case is so straightforward as Trudeau claims, why hasn’t the RCMP filed a charge sheet yet? Why hasn’t the Canadian government provided evidence linking Indian agents to the murder of the Khalistan Tiger Force terrorist?” It appears that Trudeau, in pursuit of Khalistani votes, will rely on statements from counsel for the banned SFJ (Sikhs for Justice) at the Foreign Interference Commission to indict India. The inquiry has reportedly excluded any opposing views, and Trudeau is scheduled to testify before the Commission on October 16, following the Safety Minister’s deposition a day earlier.
A security official described the inquiry as “one-sided” and a “sham,” aimed solely at defaming India. Despite no charge sheet being filed by the RCMP, Trudeau declared India guilty in the Canadian Parliament on September 18. The next move is believed to involve one of the four arrested Sikh youths in the Nijjar murder case being made an approver, whose statement could be used by the RCMP to indict India. As all the arrested are either Canadian citizens or asylum seekers, they may easily testify against India in court without any Indian legal representation. Additionally, a bounty of half a million Canadian dollars has been placed on High Commissioner Sanjay Verma’s head, with Khalistani groups burning and shooting his effigy in Vancouver last Saturday.
While Trudeau attempts to accuse India of foreign interference in Canadian elections, Indian intelligence has evidence that Canadian High Commission officials in Delhi and the Chandigarh consulate were secretly engaging with the ruling party in Delhi and Punjab. They also reportedly attempted to radicalize Sikhs in Punjab, fueling the farmers’ protests and promoting a human rights narrative against the Modi government.
