Lalit Manchanda, known for his cameo in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, was found dead at his residence in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, April 21. The 36-year-old actor reportedly died by suicide, with police confirming that he was found hanging inside his home.
Authorities responded promptly to the distress call, and his body was sent for a post-mortem examination. No suicide note was discovered at the scene, and initial investigations have not indicated any signs of foul play. The sudden loss has deeply saddened friends, fans, and industry colleagues alike.
Local reports suggest that Lalit had been grappling with mental stress and personal issues in recent months. Widely appreciated for his brief yet impactful roles in Bollywood films and TV shows, he was also involved in an upcoming web series that he was said to be very passionate about.

On Tuesday, the Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) honoured him with a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, posting his photo and stating, “CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Lalit Manchanda (member since 2012).”
Lalit was remembered not only for his acting talent but also for the warmth and commitment he brought to every role. Aside from TMKOC, he appeared in popular shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Crime Patrol, and India’s Most Wanted.
