With the excitement building up for the ICC Cricket World Cup Final between India and Australia at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, the city police have gone the extra mile to ensure smooth proceedings and heightened security measures. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles are among the dignitaries expected to grace the event.
Commissioner of Police GS Malik outlined the elaborate security plan, detailing the deployment of over 6,000 police personnel, with 3,000 stationed within the stadium. Alongside the police force, two NDRF teams, two Chetak Commando teams, and 10 squads of the Bomb Disposal Unit will be strategically placed to ensure a secure environment during the high-profile match.
Malik emphasized the importance of utilizing the metro for commuting, especially on match day, to alleviate traffic congestion, given the anticipated influx of more than 100,000 spectators. He highlighted the advancements in arrangements based on past experiences, ensuring a smoother operational framework.
Gyanendra Singh Malik, the Police Commissioner, also confirmed the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the crucial match. Addressing concerns about ticket black marketing, Malik assured proactive police intervention, vowing to investigate any reported incidents and take strict legal action as per the law.
As the cricketing spectacle draws near, the city of Ahmedabad gears up with stringent security measures and a commitment to thwart any malpractices, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all cricket enthusiasts attending the epic clash.
