Agartala: The Government Railway Police (GRP) have arrested three women in connection with the violent assault on Railway TTE Atul Kaushik at Manu Railway Station in the Dhalai District, Tripura. The arrests were made after reviewing video evidence from the incident.

The accused have been identified as Rubina Chakma (21) from Pechartal Aadhar Chhara village, Rajnamukhi Chakma (30) from Lal Chhara area, and Bina Chakma (35) from Pechartal Jubolichhara village.

The attack occurred about a month ago when the women, along with others, were illegally transporting bananas from Manu Railway Station to Agartala using passenger trains. When TTE Atul Kaushik questioned them about the unauthorized activity, the suspects admitted to routinely using passenger trains for such purposes. Kaushik fined them Rs. 3,000, which escalated into a violent confrontation. The women, along with their accomplices, severely assaulted Kaushik, causing serious injuries that required immediate medical attention.

Kaushik later filed a complaint with the GRP, prompting an investigation that included video analysis, leading to the arrest of the three women. However, several accomplices remain at large, and efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend them.
