A tirade broke out in the Parliament sitting, as the Leader of the Opposition Party Rahul Gandhi and another MP of All India Congress accosted Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Education Minister, on the topic of NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) Paper leaks, 2024.

The Opposition Leader raised concern about the troubling issues in the Nation’s examination system, as well as the education system being evidently in a grave situation. According to him, this issue is not only limited to the NEET, but it is about a broader perspective that spreads as wide as all of the major national examinations. Rahul Gandhi continued with his statement, accusing Dharmendra Pradhan of being unable to decipher the basics of the grave situation the nation is in, as he held everyone responsible for the situation except himself.

Gandhi further raised worries about the trust of millions of Indians being broken from the Indian education system, as they now believe that the Indian Education System can be easily bought just by being rich and powerful. He continued his criticism with millions of students believing the system to be deceptive. Further escalating the situation, he claimed a whole one-day discussion on this topic.

Likewise, the Union Education Minister countered his jabs over the alarming allegations of fraud. Pradhan refused any evidence of paper leaks under his term.

Countering the Opposition Party, Pradhan claimed that no proof of a paper leak has been discovered over the past seven years. The Supreme Court is now deliberating this NEET case. Also, he sincerely believes in the authority of NTA over conducting and administering effective and lawful examinations, as that has been the case for more than 240 national examinations.

Further countering Pradhan, Congress MP provoked the measures that were taken to resolve this “systematic issue.”

Pradhan answered this with a common sentence that shouting will not turn a lie into the truth. Also, it’s extremely unacceptable that the Leader of the Opposition believes the nation’s test system is worthless.

Pradhan went on to say that in order to combat anomalies and malpractices in competitive tests, the government has passed a new law. The Minister claimed that similar measures were introduced during the previous UPA administration, but they were abandoned “under pressure” by the ruling Congress. When Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav entered the debate and criticized the way the administration was addressing the problem, the conversation became more heated.

Yadav declared the government will keep track of all paper leaks. In certain centers, almost 2,000 students have achieved success. Students will not receive justice as long as this minister (Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan) is in office. This debate further continued when Pradhan countered Yadav. However, the answer is still unclear about the next step about the NEET topic.
