The ongoing Telangana Assembly Election 2023 has garnered significant attention as prominent personalities from the entertainment industry, including SS Rajamouli, Allu Arjun, Jr NTR, Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh Daggubati, Meka Srikanth, and Ram Charan, exercised their voting rights and encouraged citizens to participate in the democratic process.
SS Rajamouli, the renowned filmmaker behind RRR, proudly displayed his inked finger on Instagram, urging everyone to take part in the election. Similarly, Allu Arjun, Jr NTR, Chiranjeevi, and Venkatesh Daggubati were spotted at various polling booths, setting an example by casting their votes early in the day.
Actor Meka Srikanth emphasized the importance of voting to uphold the strength of democracy during media interactions after casting his vote in the Jubilee Hills area. Ram Charan, amidst his busy shooting schedule for Shankar’s Game Changer, took a break to return to Hyderabad specifically to participate in the election.
Reports indicate that by 9 AM, approximately 7.78 percent of voters had turned up across the state’s 35,655 polling stations. Notably, 103 legislators, predominantly from the ruling Bharat Rasthra Samithi (BRS), are re-contesting this time.
A pioneering move in this election cycle is the provision of home voting for citizens aged over 80 years and those with disabilities. Around 27,600 eligible voters are registered to avail of this facility. Additionally, approximately 1,000 voters have opted for the Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System, reflecting the efforts to ensure broader voter participation and inclusivity in the electoral process.
