Supreme Court Lawyer Murdered by Husband: Accused Arrested

In a shocking incident, a 62-year-old former Indian Revenue Service officer was arrested on Monday for the alleged murder of his wife, a distinguished Supreme Court attorney. The tragic incident unfolded in their residence in Noida, located in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. According to Police, the accused reportedly concealed himself inside a storeroom on the property after committing the heinous crime on Sunday.
The incident came to light when the 62-year-old victim, Renu Sinha, failed to answer her brother’s frequent phone calls over a two-day period.
Concerned, her brother reported the incident to the police. After forcibly entering the bungalow, the police found the victim’s dead body in the bathroom. Her spouse, who had been missing since the incident and was being held responsible by Renu’s brother, could not be reached since his phone had been switched off. Additionally, the brother also disclosed that the couple frequently argued.
According to police officials, Ajay Nath locked the bungalow and sought cover in the abandoned store on the terrace. He was then arrested and taken in for questioning.
During interrogation, Ajay Nath confessed that he had intended to sell their property for Rs 4 crore and had even received an advance, but his wife had been opposed to the sale. The lawyer who passed away had been battling cancer and had only received the all-clear.
According to the preliminary investigation, Renu may have died from severe blood loss, but the precise cause of death will be confirmed after the postmortem report.
A police investigation is currently being conducted after evidence was gathered from the crime scene.
