One of the most successful musicals ever is said to be Cabaret. The story takes place in Berlin in 1929–1930 at the end of the Jazz Age, just as the Nazis were starting to gain ground. It centers on American writer Clifford Bradshaw and his romance with English cabaret actress Sally Bowles and revolves around the nightlife at a club called Kit Kat Klub. An emcee is someone who monitors everything noteworthy that occurs at the club.

In London’s West End, Cara Delevingne will make her stage debut in Cabaret. Luke Treadaway will portray the Emcee in the same film, while the supermodel will portray the legendary Sally Bowles. Jake Shears and Self Esteem, two musicians who have played the parts since September of last year, will be replaced by the two. Eddie Redmayne was the Emcee and Jessie Buckley was Bowles in 2021.

“There are no words to explain the excitement I have to return home and make my stage debut in such an iconic role,” Cara commented about the role. The talented performers who have portrayed Sally in previous shows throughout the globe and in this one at the West End have greatly inspired me. I am really excited to work with this talented group of people in this production.

Cara has acted before. This is not the first time. She has previously appeared in the films Only Murders in the Building, Suicide Squad, and Anna Karenina.

Among Delevingne’s acting credits are “Only Murders in the Building,” “Suicide Squad,” and “Anna Karenina.”

“I can’t wait to join this incredible production and become a member of the Kit Kat Club,” Treadaway continued. Being invited to take on this is an enormous delight, and I can’t wait to get going.

Joe Masteroff wrote the book, Fred Ebb wrote the lyrics, and John Kander composed the music for Cabaret. It is based on John Van Druten’s 1951 play “I Am a Camera,” which was based on Christopher Isherwood’s 1939 novel “Goodbye to Berlin.” The title track, “Wilkommen,” “Don’t Tell Mama,” “Mein Herr,” “Maybe This Time,” and “Money” are among the songs. Rebecca Frecknall is in charge of directing the West End production.
