A video is going viral across various social media platforms as some men are using a giant slingshot to toss something out of a desert area somewhere in Afghanistan, as claimed by some users on X/Twitter. Netizens have different thoughts about what they were tossing up through the slingshot. The location and the date of the video are not certain, but some claim that somewhere between the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, peddlers were allegedly smuggling opium. It was the successful delivery of drugs outside of the border, as it seems in the video.

Meanwhile, smugglers use a lot of different means to transport these drugs. Some claim the use of new-era drones on the USA-Mexico border; some allegedly use small submarines to transport them across the border in various countries.

But in Afghanistan, it seems like they are using a traditional way of transporting opium outside the border. They neither need electricity nor batteries to charge or use the slingshot. Allegedly, they just grow it and smuggle it outside the country through a giant slingshot.

Mashable India wrote, “Reactions poured in with angry bird memes, and netizens paying homage to Wile E Coyote over the loony video. A few netizens tagged delivery firms including Zomato, Swiggy, and Amazon to take note of the innovation by the smugglers with a slingshot. A user wondered if this is how Amazon would ship in years to come. A few noted that the slingshot modicum was cheaper than delivery by drone. Meanwhile, one remarked that this bunch of peeps could even launch a satellite into space. Meanwhile, one user wondered if this is how the money was sent back to the smugglers.”

Well, netizens were having fun while watching this video and giving their opinions on what these people were doing with the giant slingshot. But it’s a sign of worry for us too because if the claim of some users is right about using this slingshot for allegedly smuggling opium into Pakistan, then this opium may be coming to India through the India-Pakistan border too. Who knows if they were using the same technique here or maybe using drones too for transportation?

In the past, the same type of video went viral when some men used a giant catapult to smuggle drugs from Afghanistan to Iran. Afghanistan is the largest producer of opium and other drugs, and Iran has had a tough time battling the flow of narcotics via the Afghan border into its territory. The United Nations has on several occasions hailed Iran’s efforts to combat narco-trafficking. Thousands of Iranian forces have been killed in the line of duty while fighting drug traffickers near the Afghan border.
