According to the Hindustan Times, Shubman Gill has been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment for dengue. Initially, Cricbuzz had reported his admission to a Chennai hospital.
During his hospitalization, he received attentive care from the medical staff, with Dr. Rizwan Khan, the designated doctor appointed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to accompany the team, overseeing his treatment, as mentioned in the publication.
A BCCI source, speaking anonymously, had earlier informed PTI that Shubman Gill had been receiving intravenous treatment at the Chennai team hotel for the past few days. However, his platelet count had dropped to 70,000, which is a common concern for dengue patients. When the platelet count falls below 100,000, it is standard practice to admit the patient to a medical facility as a precautionary measure. Consequently, he was admitted for mandatory tests on Sunday night during India’s match against Australia but was subsequently released by Monday evening.
