SBS Announces its Nominees for 2023 Best Couple Award

The 2023 SBS Drama Awards, presented by Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS), is supposed to be held on December 29 at 20:35 (KST) at SBS Prism Tower in Seoul. It is an annual awards ceremony held by SBS to celebrate the Korean dramas and their achievements that have been aired on its network. Seoul Broadcasting System is one of the leading television and radio broadcasters in South Korea, along with MBC and KBC. For this year’s award ceremony, Shin Dong-yup and Kim Yoo-jung will be reprising their roles as hosts.
Fans from all around the world wait for this award ceremony to vote for their favorite actor or drama. One of the most popular awards on this show is the “Best Couple Award,” which is awarded to the actors who receive the most votes from the viewers by charming them with their swoon-worthy onscreen chemistry. Last year, Ahn Hyo-Seop and Kim Se-Jeong received this award for their famous drama, “Business Proposal.” This year’s list of nominees for this award was released by SBS on December 18.
The first couple on this list is Ryeoun and Shin Ye Eun, who appeared as the lead stars in the historical romance drama “The Secret Romantic Guesthouse.” In the series, Shin Ye Eun took on the role of Yoon Dan Oh, an orphaned noblewoman who turned her property into a guesthouse to support herself. She is looked down upon for being a working woman despite her noble background, but she doesn’t lose her confidence or self-worth. In this guesthouse, she meets Kang San, played by Ryeoun, who has come there with a hidden motive. He acts rude and distant from everyone, and he also doesn’t trust anyone because of his traumatic past. However, in the course of the story, we find the two leads resolving all their issues with love eventually blooming between them.
The second couple on this list includes Ahn Hyo Seop and Lee Sung Kyung for “Dr. Romantic 3.” Here they reprise their respective roles as Doctor Seo Woo Jin and Doctor Cha Eun Jae from the second season. They have become a couple, along with being co-workers. In the series, they are seen working hard as doctors in the Doldam Hospital Regional Trauma Centre, taking care of their patients, and also becoming each other’s biggest support in their most challenging times.
Last on the list are Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung for “My Demon.” They are currently mesmerizing the audience with their ongoing romantic comedy drama. In the series, Song Kang appears as a handsome demon who loses his power during an accident to Do Do Hee, the heir of the conglomerate Future Group. To resume his powers, the demon now needs the help of Do Hee, to which she agrees but also keeps her own conditions before him. They agree upon a contract marriage for their personal gains, but down the road, they become each other’s biggest strength and also fall head over heels in love with each other.
All three dramas have received great acclaim and appreciation from the audience. The couples from the respective dramas have also received a great deal of love from the viewers.
