The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has inaugurated its newly built headquarters, Keshav Kunj, in New Delhi. Spanning 5 lakh square feet, the complex features three towers, auditoriums, a library, a hospital, and a Hanuman temple. Constructed with a focus on sustainability, the ₹150 crore facility was entirely funded through public donations.
Designed to support the Sangh’s expanding activities, Keshav Kunj will serve as a hub for events, training, and meetings. The library will facilitate research, while the auditoriums will accommodate large gatherings, The Indian Express reported. The headquarters also includes a five-bed hospital for medical care and expansive lawns for relaxation.
Located in Jhandewalan, the complex covers four acres and surpasses the BJP headquarters in size. It is designed to house RSS offices, residential spaces, and other organisational functions. The three towers—Sadhana, Prerana, and Archana—contain 300 rooms, office spaces, conference halls, and auditoriums. While Sadhana is dedicated to office use, Prerana and Archana serve as residential quarters.
A spacious open area between the Prerana and Archana towers features a landscaped lawn and a statue of RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. This space has been designated for daily shakhas. The complex also includes parking for 135 cars, with an expansion capacity of up to 270 vehicles.
According to an RSS functionary, the headquarters was built entirely through contributions from 75,000 donors, ranging from ₹5 to several lakh rupees. Before moving into the new facility, RSS had been operating from the Udaseen Ashram in Jhandewalan for the past eight years. The transition to Keshav Kunj began in September last year, with full occupancy now complete, although some interior work remains.
The headquarters houses three large auditoriums with a combined seating capacity of over 1,300. One auditorium, named after former VHP president Ashok Singhal, features stadium seating and cushioned chairs. The building’s windows incorporate Rajasthani and Gujarati architectural elements, and over 1,000 granite frames were used to minimize wood consumption.
Additional amenities include a mess, canteen, and a library, Keshav Pustakalaya, located on the 10th floor, providing research facilities on the Sangh. The complex also accommodates the Dilli Prant Karyalay and Suruchi Prakashan offices. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is set to host the Karyakarta Milan at the new headquarters on February 19, ahead of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha Baithak in Bengaluru from March 21-23. The RSS, headquartered in Nagpur, will convene its annual Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, its highest decision-making body.
