At ‘The Family Leader’ forum organized by The Daily Signal, Vivek Ramaswamy, a Republican candidate for the presidency, articulated how his Hindu faith shapes his vision for the campaign. Emphasizing the shared values between Hinduism and Christianity, Ramaswamy aims to bridge religious gaps and promote common principles for the benefit of future generations.
Ramaswamy passionately expressed how his Hindu faith grants him freedom and inspires his political journey, believing in a single true God and the moral responsibility to fulfill individual purposes. Drawing from his upbringing, he highlighted the importance of family, respect for parents, sacredness in marriage, and the significance of pre-marital abstinence.
Linking the values of Hinduism and Christianity, Ramaswamy underscored their shared foundation, asserting that these values belonged to God and echoed the foundational fabric of the nation. While asserting that a President shouldn’t advocate for a specific religion, he pledged to stand for and champion these shared values for the betterment of future generations.
Ramaswamy also expressed his intent to revitalize the prominence of faith, family, hard work, patriotism, and values in the United States, aiming to make these elements ‘cool’ again. At 38, born to immigrant parents from Kerala in southwest Ohio, his campaign, while trailing behind frontrunners in GOP polls, signifies a unique narrative, seeking to unite diverse perspectives through shared principles and values.
