On the occasion of what would have been his 55th birthday, the late singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, fondly known as KK, was honored with heartfelt messages from his family and Bollywood celebrities. His daughter, Taamara, took to Instagram to share a touching throwback photo and a heartfelt note dedicated to her father.

In the cherished snapshot, a young Taamara sits on her father’s lap while he engrosses himself in playing the piano. Taamara’s message resonated with deep affection as she expressed, “Happy birthday dad, love you more than I’ll ever be able to explain. Miss you so much, thanks for coming back to life at least in my dreams. I hope we can eat cake together again sometime.”

The Bollywood fraternity also joined in commemorating KK’s timeless contribution to music. Actress Rakul Preet Singh posted a photo of the singer, accompanied by the poignant strains of KK’s hit track “Dil Kyun Yeh Mera.” She fondly recalled, “Remembering the magical voice of KK today and every day.”

KK, renowned for his iconic songs like “Tadap Tadap” from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, “Khuda Jaane” from Bachna Ae Haseeno, and “Aankhon Mein Teri” from Om Shanti Om, left an indelible mark on the music industry. His untimely demise on May 31, 2022, deeply saddened fans worldwide. KK had been performing at Nazrul Manch in South Kolkata when he fell ill and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

With a musical career spanning nearly three decades, KK’s melodious voice graced more than 500 Hindi songs and over 200 tracks in languages such as Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, and Malayalam. His remarkable talent earned him accolades, including two Screen Awards for Best Playback Singer (Non-Film Music) and numerous other honors.

KK’s legacy extended beyond his music, as he shared a loving bond with his childhood sweetheart, Jyothy Krishna, whom he married in 1991. Their union brought forth two children, Nakul and Taamara, who now continue to cherish his memory and musical heritage. As the world commemorates KK on his birth anniversary, his soulful melodies and enduring impact remain alive in the hearts of countless fans.
