Re-NEET only if…. says SC!
NEET 2024 candidates are still stuck in a turmoil of the questions of whether the sanctity of NEET 2024 was compromised or not? The case has reached the apex court and here’s what the court has to say..
There are several pleas over NEET UG 2024 filed by students and NTA itself that are being heard by the Supreme Court. It has been over a month since this row began. Earlier Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud had clearly stated confirming that the NEET question paper was leaked a day before. However the number of beneficiaries of leaked paper were not clear. The bench then stated that the re examination without tracing the number of students that got the paper would be unfair to those students who did well on their own. However several arrests have been made in the matter from areas of Bihar and also Gujarat. Although the re-examination for those candidates with grace marks has been completed and results declared , others await justice from the apex institution.
On Thursday , 18th July , an apex bench compromising of CJI Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwla and Manoj Mishra again stated that Re-NEET could only be conducted on a concrete footing that sanctity has been compromised on a large scale.
Further the bench also stated that this case has ‘Social ramifications’ and also asked the petitioner to show the scale of paper leak and its effect on the entire examination.
The hearing of NEET UG 2024 is ongoing in the SC and the students are hoping a result in their favour and aim for a successful academic calendar .
