On Thursday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized that Indians are incapable of deceiving others because “deceit is not in our character.” Speaking to the Indian diaspora in the United States, he assured them that their dedication to America as expatriates should not be doubted. Singh urged the Indian community to work with complete honesty, stating that while they should remain committed to India, their loyalty to the United States should also be unquestionable to maintain a positive perception of Indians. Singh reiterated that although Indians can be deceived, they themselves would never deceive others, stressing that this is a message India should convey to the world. He further highlighted India’s philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ which promotes the idea that the entire world is one family, transcending caste, religion, and community.
Singh expressed that India and the United States are natural allies, bound by deep-rooted ties and a shared destiny. He believes that only a strong partnership between India and the U.S. can bring peace, prosperity, and stability to the world. Reflecting on India’s transformation over the past decade, Singh noted the rapid improvement in the country’s global perception.
During his U.S. visit, Rajnath Singh is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with his American counterpart, Secretary Austin, and meet with Jake Sullivan, the U.S. Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs. Before departing for the U.S., Singh expressed his enthusiasm for the visit on X, highlighting the strong Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the United States and his intention to discuss areas of strategic interest and enhance defense cooperation.
