Rajinikanth Meets UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Watches His Recent Film ‘Jailer’ with Him

On Saturday, the esteemed actor Rajinikanth paid a visit to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his residence in Lucknow. During this interaction, the renowned superstar expressed his intention to watch his recent blockbuster ‘Jailer’ alongside the chief minister. In anticipation of his visit to the state capital, Rajinikanth shared with ANI, “I will be watching the film with the CM. It is a blessing from the divine that the movie is achieving great success.”

Earlier in the day, a special screening of ‘Jailer’ had been organized in Lucknow, attended by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. After watching the film, Maurya remarked, “I had the opportunity to view the movie ‘Jailer.’ Despite the limited content in the film, Rajinikanth’s exceptional performance elevates its significance. His acting prowess truly shines.”

The actor’s gesture has garnered both criticism and appreciation from individuals with diverse political affiliations. While some voiced disapproval of his display of respect toward the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, known for his political stance primarily addressing minority communities, others praised Rajinikanth for paying homage to a Hindu saint.

Rajinikanth’s visit to Lucknow was preceded by his presence in Jharkhand, where he visited the revered Chhinnamasta Temple and offered prayers. He also devoted an hour to meditation at the ‘Yagoda Ashram’ in Ranchi. Following these spiritual pursuits, he engaged in a meeting with Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan. Notably, Rajinikanth embarked on a pilgrimage to Rishikesh in the Himalayas subsequent to the release of his film, ‘Jailer.’

Rajinikanth’s journey has encompassed diverse regions, ranging from the sacred Chhinnamasta Temple in Jharkhand to his interactions with political figures in Uttar Pradesh. His actions and the movie’s success have stirred conversations across various circles, reflecting the multifaceted impact of his endeavors.

‘Jailer’ has enjoyed remarkable success at the box office, amassing a total collection of ₹235.65 crores within eight days, up until August 17th. Helmed by director Nelson, the film casts Rajinikanth in the role of a man seeking vengeance for the demise of his police officer son. The movie also features notable actors such as Priyanka Mohan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, and Vinayakan in pivotal roles. Additionally, Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, and Jackie Shroff make significant cameo appearances.
