Rajasthan: Woman Booked for Biting off Husband’s Tongue During Fight in Jhalawar
Kanhayalal Sain from Bakani town and Ravina Sain from Sunel village tied the knot a year and a half ago, but the couple shared a strained relationship.

A 23-year-old woman, Ravina Sain, has been booked for voluntarily causing hurt and grievous injuries under Sections 115(2) and 118(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Jhalawar district police reported on Saturday. The incident took place on Thursday night and was reported on Friday evening.
According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Brijraj Singh, Kanhayalal Sain (25) from Bakani town and Ravina Sain from Sunel village were married a year and a half ago but often quarreled due to their strained relationship.
During an argument late Thursday night, Ravina allegedly bit off a portion of Kanhayalal’s tongue in a fit of rage, as claimed by family members. Kanhayalal was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and later referred to Jhalawar Medical College Hospital for further treatment. Doctors have assured the family that the severed part of his tongue can be stitched back.
Following the incident, Ravina locked herself in a room and attempted to harm herself by slitting her wrist with a sickle. However, the family managed to stop her, ASI Singh added.
The case was filed based on a complaint lodged by Kanhayalal’s brother. The police are yet to record Kanhayalal’s statement as he remains under medical care.
