Pune: Woman Detained for Selling Nylon Thread
When the police arrived at the scene, they seized nylon thread valued at ₹1,600 from the woman.

The Crime Branch Unit-4 team arrested a woman for allegedly selling illegal nylon thread. Police Constables Vinod Mahajan and Nagesh Singh Kuwar conducted the operation during a routine patrol in the Unit-4 area. Acting on a tip-off, the team discovered that the woman was selling nylon thread near Munjaba Wasti, Maitri Park, Dhanori. Upon arriving at the scene, they confiscated nylon thread worth ₹1,600 from her possession.
A case has been filed at Vishrantwadi Police Station under Crime Register No. 03/2025, invoking Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 5 of the Environment Protection Act, 1986. After a medical examination, the woman was handed over to Vishrantwadi Police. The operation was overseen by Senior Police Inspector A. Waghmare and the Unit-4 team.
