In a momentous occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate a series of transformative projects exceeding a staggering sum of Rs. 19,850 crore in Tamil Nadu. Alongside these unveilings, he will be a distinguished guest at the 38th convocation ceremony of Bharathidasan University, though recent adjustments limiting press coverage hint at influences beyond the university’s control. Modi is scheduled to dedicate the general cargo berth-II at Kamarajar Port and initiate groundbreaking projects in petroleum and natural gas, amassing a total valuation surpassing Rs 9,000 crore.
According to an announcement from the Public Information Bureau, Modi will consecrate the general cargo berth-II at Kamarajar Port. This includes the establishment of an automobile export/import terminal-II and the initiation of capital dredging phase-V. Additionally, he will ceremoniously initiate projects in the realm of petroleum and natural gas, collectively valued at an impressive sum exceeding Rs 9,000 crore.
An essential part of these developments is the initiation of a 323 km natural gas pipeline from Krishnagiri to Coimbatore within the Kochi-Koottanad-Bangalore-Mangalore gas pipeline II (KKBMPL II). The foundation stone-laying ceremony, orchestrated by the Gas Authority of India Ltd and POL pipelines within a shared corridor, intricately connects to the prospective grassroots terminal at Vallur, Chennai.
In a significant stride in the domain of atomic research, Modi is poised to officially dedicate the demonstration fast reactor fuel reprocessing plant at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research in Kalpakkam. Among the array of projects, the inauguration of NIT-T’s ‘AMETHYST,’ a 500-bed boys’ hostel, stands out as a notable highlight.
Anticipating PM Modi’s arrival, security measures have been significantly heightened, rendering the city impregnable. In addition to personnel from the Special Protection Group and CISF, approximately 4,000 police officers have been strategically stationed in proximity to the airport and university. Chief Minister MK Stalin is expected to arrive via a specially arranged flight. Modi is anticipated to convene with the state committee members of the BJP, with President K Annamalai already present in Tiruchy.
As the nation eagerly awaits these momentous unveilings, Prime Minister Modi’s visit promises to leave an indelible mark on Tamil Nadu’s landscape of progress and development.
