The Haryana Police revealed on Monday that the suspect arrested in the murder of Congress worker Himani Narwal had allegedly used a mobile charger cable to kill her. The accused, identified as Sachin, is married and owns a mobile shop in Jhajjar district.

According to Krishan Kumar Rao, ADGP, Rohtak Range, Sachin and Himani had connected through social media, and he frequently visited her home in Vijay Nagar, Rohtak, where she lived alone. On February 27, the two got into an argument, during which Sachin allegedly strangled her with a mobile charger cable.

After committing the crime, he stole Himani’s jewellery, phone, and laptop before taking them to his shop in Jhajjar. He then packed her body in a suitcase found at her residence and discarded it in the bushes near the Sampla bus stand. The police intend to take him into remand to uncover the motive behind their dispute and investigate possible financial transactions between them.

Additionally, police sources reported that Sachin had bite marks and scratches on his hands, suggesting that Himani tried to defend herself. He admitted that she had bitten his hand during the struggle.

In response to the arrest, Himani’s brother, Jatin, demanded the death penalty for the accused. He also urged the media to refrain from spreading misinformation about the case, stating that the family had not yet received complete details from the police.
