Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a scathing critique of the Congress-led government in Rajasthan, accusing it of engaging in appeasement politics and aiming to erode the essence of ‘Sanatan’ – the traditional cultural values.
Speaking at an election rally in Rajasthan’s Pali district, Modi expressed concerns about the Congress’s alleged focus on corruption, dynastic politics, and divisive policies rather than development. He claimed that the Congress’s priorities were misplaced and highlighted the state’s need for a government that prioritizes progress and growth.
Accusing the Congress of harboring an anti-women mindset, Modi condemned their conduct following the law on women’s reservation, alleging that leaders from the opposition made derogatory remarks against women.
Furthermore, he criticized the Congress for purportedly ignoring incidents of atrocities against Dalits, highlighting their inaction and negligence towards such sensitive matters.
The Prime Minister contended that the Congress’s appeasement policy has allowed those with divisive and extremist mentalities to thrive in the state, potentially fostering unrest and terrorism over the past five years.
Emphasizing the Congress’s alleged agenda to obliterate ‘Sanatan’ or traditional values, Modi underscored the significance of preserving Rajasthan’s culture, suggesting that the Congress’s approach endangers the state’s heritage.
Addressing economic issues, Modi blamed the Congress for elevated petrol prices in Rajasthan compared to BJP-governed states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat. He assured a review of petrol prices upon the formation of a BJP government.
Modi highlighted the reduction in direct taxes, claiming a significant savings of Rs 2.5 lakh crore due to this initiative. He further pointed out the escalating costs of mobile data, attributing it to the Congress’s policies.
The Prime Minister concluded by stressing the importance of a developmental-focused government in Rajasthan, urging voters to prioritize progress for the state’s contribution to India’s 21st-century advancements.
