Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed a peace offer to Ukraine on Friday and set certain conditions for the ceasefire offer. He said Ukraine must withdraw its troops completely from Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk People’s Republic, and the Luhansk People’s Republic, which were annexed by Russia in September 2022. He also said that Ukraine must drop its decision to join NATO if it wants a peace deal.

\One of the demands was to end western sanctions too, pointing towards European countries and the U.S. indirectly, Putin said, listing them as the full withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the entire territory of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions in eastern and southern Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Kyiv swiftly rejected surrendering and Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, called Putin’s suggestions “offensive to common sense.” Last month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Reuters that “You cannot sit down to talk to a person whose only goal is to destroy you.”

Hence, this shows how Ukraine is reacting against Russian aggression; it shows that Ukraine is not in the mood of surrendering to Russia and is neither thinking of accepting any deal with them. The Ukraine-U.S. 10-year military pact has given a boost to Kyiv. And the authority of using Russian frozen funds at the G7 summit to Ukraine had uplifted the morale of their leaders too.

Well, dozens of world leaders came together in a Swiss resort on Saturday to discuss how to break a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia. Many countries sent their top leaders while India sent Ambassador Pawan Kumar, a senior diplomat to Switzerland. Russia and China are not attending the peace conference, a source confirmed. From the United States, Vice President Kamala Harris attended the summit.
