Patna News: Woman Arrested for Killing Husband with Lover’s Help in Barh

Patna: A 22-year-old woman has been arrested in Barh, Patna, for allegedly kills her husband with the help of her lover. The police recovered the victim’s body, identified as Dheeraj Kumar, from the banks of the Dhoba River under the Bakhtiyarpur police station area.
Investigation and Arrests
According to SDPO-II of Barh, Patna, Abhishek Singh, the investigation revealed that the woman, Shalu Kumari, had an extramarital affair with her husband’s cousin. When her husband, Dheeraj, discovered their relationship, Shalu conspired with her lover to kill him. The woman kills husband along with her lover and a juvenile. The police have arrested Shalu and her lover, while another accused, a juvenile who assisted them, is also under investigation.
Crime Details
The police say that Shalu and her lover planned and executed the murder. They lured Dheeraj to the Dhoba River bridge on the pretext of a birthday celebration, shot him twice in the back, and stabbed him in the head. Then, they stuffed his body into a sack and threw it into the river.
Police Recovery
The police recovered two cellphones and ₹2.45 lakh in cash, which they believe Dheeraj had accumulated by selling land. During the investigation, they uncovered Shalu’s involvement in the crime, and she confessed to orchestrating her husband’s murder because of her illicit relationship.
Ongoing Investigation
The police are working to apprehend the absconding accused and are investigating the case under relevant sections of the law. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the complexities of marital relationships and the consequences of extramarital affairs.
