Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali took the reins of Pakistan’s formidable pace attack, effectively dismantling the Netherlands side, who were eventually bowled out for a total of 205 runs. Noteworthy batting performances came from Bas de Leede, who top-scored with a commendable 67 runs, and Vikramjit Singh, who contributed a powerful 52 runs. Pakistan emerged victorious over the Netherlands by a substantial margin of 81 runs.
The Netherlands’ opening batsmen displayed a composed start against Pakistan’s potent pacers. However, Hasan Ali made the breakthrough by dismissing Max O’Dowd. Colin Ackermann, showing great promise, was also dismissed, this time by the spin of Iftikhar Ahmed.
Bas de Leede delivered an impressive bowling spell, managing to contain Pakistan’s innings to a total of 286 runs. The initial ten overs of the match were dominated by the Netherlands’ pacers, who secured three early wickets. It was during this critical phase that Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel orchestrated a magnificent partnership, rescuing Pakistan from the brink of a potentially low-scoring outcome.
Despite the initial dominance of the Netherlands’ pacers in the opening ten overs, claiming the wickets of three Pakistan batters, including skipper Babar Azam, the middle-order duo of Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel exhibited remarkable composure and skill, steering the team toward an impressive comeback.
