The Placement Assistance Council (PAC) organized an in-person Mentorship Programme titled “INSIDE LAW FIRM APPLICATIONS” on January 29, 2026 at Seminar Hall, Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. Leading professionals from one of India’s leading law firms, Khaitan & Co., were invited to share insights into the recruitment process at top-tier law firms and help students understand HR expectations for resumes and interviews.

The two-hour session featured Ms. Radhika Khandelwal (Director – Human Resources) and Ms. Manvi Malhotra (Senior Executive – Human Resources) from Khaitan & Co., a leading law firm in India.

The session began with an introductory speech by Ms. Upasana Nehra, Executive Member of PAC, followed by a welcome address and felicitation of the guests by Professor (Dr.) Gunjan Gupta, Professor-in-Charge of Campus Law Centre.

Ms Radhika Khandelwal talked about the rich legacy of Khaitan & Co., highlighting its various milestones, multi-sectoral practice areas, global offices, and digital and innovation initiatives. Following this, both speakers provided students with detailed information about the various stages of the law firm internship process—CV shortlisting, interviews, onboarding, team allocation, and evaluation.

The speakers advised the students to strictly limit their CV to the more recent and only the relevant information based on the role they were applying for. Having a clarity about one’s practice area was encouraged to seek opportunities accordingly. They added “the CV should ideally be a one- pager, highlighting the essential information only. It should be formatted and structured meticulously with no typing or grammatical errors.” Co- curricular activities like publications and moots as well as certification courses were encouraged.

During the discussion on the interview process, the speakers provided insights into technical, behavioral, situational, HR, and experience-based questions, and advised students to communicate confidently and conduct thorough research about the company beforehand. Additionally, they highlighted the importance of understanding the work culture, the team buddy system, and the evaluation process during the internship, which can be crucial for securing a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) in the future.

Ms. Manvi Malhotra also discussed the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), prompt engineering, and ethical AI practices during the session. She emphasised that AI should be adopted as a supportive tool, but human judgment and oversight remain indispensable.

The program was highly interactive, with students actively participating, and small gifts were also distributed by the speakers. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Teacher Convener, PAC, Dr. Cholaraja M. and a concluding remark by Executive Member Upasana Nehra.
