As the Kanwar Yatra is set to begin on July 11, the Noida traffic police have developed a comprehensive plan to manage traffic and facilitate the safe passage of pilgrims passing through the city. A dedicated Kanwar Cell will oversee traffic arrangements and ensure the smooth movement of devotees from July 11 to August 9.
Key Traffic Arrangements:
- Route: Pilgrims will enter Noida through Mayur Vihar, pass by the Shani Temple and Okhla Bird Sanctuary, and exit at Kalindi Kunj, covering a 4-kilometer stretch within the city.
- Traffic Management: Traffic police will be stationed at Sector 14-A to manage the entry of pilgrims from Mayur Vihar, and traffic on Chilla Road will be briefly halted to allow safe passage.
- Control Room: A control room will be established at the Noida Entry Gate in Sector 14-A to monitor the situation and respond to any emergencies.
- Lane Closure: Two of the four lanes between the Okhla Bird Sanctuary and Okhla Barrage will be closed to facilitate the movement of pilgrims.
Security Measures:
- Police Deployment: Approximately 1,500 police personnel will be deployed in the district for security and monitoring purposes.
- Coordination: The Noida traffic police have conducted meetings with their Ghaziabad counterparts to ensure seamless coordination and effective management of the yatra.
Traffic Diversion Plan:
- A diversion plan for commuters will be announced soon, and traffic police will utilise social media and public announcement systems to keep the public informed about traffic updates and route changes.
The Noida traffic police are working to minimise disruptions and ensure the safe passage of pilgrims during the Kanwar Yatra. With these arrangements in place, the city is expected to be well-prepared to handle the influx of devotees.
