Newlywed Woman Arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya for Plotting Husband’s Murder
Superintendent of Police Abhijeet S. Shankar stated that the case was cracked after an eight-day investigation, leading to the arrest of Pragati Yadav, Anurag Yadav, and the suspected contract killer Ramji Nagar.

A newlywed woman has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya for orchestrating her husband’s murder with the help of her lover. Superintendent of Police Abhijeet S. Shankar said the case was solved on Monday after eight days of investigation, resulting in the arrest of Pragati Yadav, Anurag Yadav, and alleged contract killer Ramji Nagar.
Police reported that Dilip Yadav, Pragati’s husband, died three days after being found injured in a field in Palia village on March 19. The couple had tied the knot on March 5, and Pragati allegedly paid Nagar ₹2 lakh to execute the murder.
CCTV footage captured Nagar taking Dilip to the fields on his motorcycle on the pretext of work. During interrogation, Nagar confessed to committing the murder.
Investigations revealed that Pragati and Anurag had been in a relationship for four years and conspired to kill Dilip. Pragati told the police she was forced into marrying Dilip Yadav.
