Mumbai: Tragedy Strikes as 6-Year-Old Boy Loses Life After SUV Crash-Lands onto the Bonnet of His Car

In a tragic accident late Saturday night in the Vashi area of Navi Mumbai, a six-year-old boy, Harsh Arethia, lost his life when an SUV struck a road median, causing its rear end to lift approximately 7 feet into the air before crashing onto the bonnet of the car he was traveling in. Harsh was accompanied by his father and three cousins at the time.
The driver of the SUV, identified as Vinod Pachade from Ghansoli, has been charged with causing death by negligence and rash driving, according to Vashi police station’s API Dipak Gavit. Harsh’s father, Mavji Arethia, filed the complaint.
Pune Footpath Accident Claims Three Lives
In another horrific accident in Maharashtra, three individuals, including two toddlers, were killed, and six others sustained injuries when a truck ran over people sleeping on a footpath in Pune’s Wagholi area early Monday morning. The victims, mostly laborers and their families from Amravati, had recently arrived in the city seeking work.
The deceased were identified as Vaibhavi Pawar (1), Vaibhav Pawar (2), and Vishal Pawar (22). The injured—Janki Pawar (21), Rinisha Pawar (18), Roshan Bhosale (9), Nagesh Pawar (27), Darshan Vairal (18), and Aalisha Pawar (47)—were admitted to Sassoon General Hospital.
The truck driver, Gajanan Totre (26), was arrested, and a medical test is being conducted to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol. Pune Additional Commissioner of Police (East Region) Manoj Patil stated that the driver lost control near Kesnand Phata, ramming into the group of sleeping individuals.
