Mumbai Woman Kills HIV-Positive 6-Month-Old Son, Arrested

A heart-wrenching incident has shaken Mumbai’s Govandi area, where a 43-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly killing her six-month-old son, who was diagnosed with HIV. The woman, who had been struggling to make ends meet, claimed she couldn’t afford treatment or even milk for her child.
Desperation and Depression
The woman, who had been married twice and was separated, was staying with her parents in Shivaji Nagar along with her child. According to the police, she had been feeling depressed and overwhelmed by her situation. When her child was diagnosed with HIV, she felt like she had no way out. Without the means to provide basic necessities like milk or medical treatment, she made the devastating decision to end her child’s life by suffocating him.
Police Investigation
The case came to light when the police received a call about a fight between two women in Shivaji Nagar. During questioning, the 43-year-old woman confessed to killing her son and keeping the body at home. The police officer handling the case revealed that the woman’s desperation and lack of resources had led her to commit the horrific act.
Arrest and Aftermath
The woman was arrested and produced before a court, where she was remanded in judicial custody. The police are continuing their investigation into the case, focusing on the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
