Since Cinema was introduced in 1913 with the movie “Raja Harishchandra” by the father of Indian Cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke, Indian Cinema has left a lasting impression on the world for its acting, culture, and content.

Indian Cinema has given many superstars, directors, etc. In the 1980s, Amitabh Bachchan was considered the last superstar of India. But then the 90s came, and an Indian film industry and a TV serial actor from Delhi came to Mumbai and entered Bollywood, and then Bollywood got its last superstar, the King of Romance, Badshah Shah Rukh Khan.

Back in the 1970s, there was a director and producer from Punjab named Yash Chopra, known for directing Romantic movies. He collaborated with many actors but introduced SRK as the King of Romance. They have given many romantic movies like Darr, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Veer Zaara, and ATB movies DDLJ. Yash Chopra has 2 sons, Adi Chopra and Uday Chopra. Adi Chopra, who took the legacy of his father in directing movies, has given a masterpiece to Indian Cinema of this generation, DDLJ. After DDLJ, Adi started making a cult classic film ever made in India, “Mohabbatein,” which again showed SRK as a teacher and the King of Romance.

Mohabbatein is always a cult classic for its content, acting, storyline, massive star cast, and its evergreen music, which are always on playlists. The movie brought the legendary Angry Man, Amitabh Bachchan, back to the screen, and his character became so famous that it brought great charm as Narayan Shankar.

According to the movie, Amitabh Bachchan is the antagonist of this movie. It narrates the story of Narayan Shankar, a strict principal of Gurukul College whose daughter Megha commits suicide after he opposes her relationship with Raj, a music student. The story follows Raj with 3 Gurukul students whose love interests are related to Narayan Shankar’s intolerance of love. But in the end, love and peace win over the hurt of people, and its evergreen music album has been ahead of its time.

This movie also launched 3 debut actors: Jugal Hansraj, Jimmy Shergill, and Uday Chopra, including Yash Chopra’s son, and 3 debut actresses: Kim Sharma, Shamita Shetty, Preeti Jhangiani, with beautiful exotic locations, making the film’s songs more memorable. This movie was released on 27 October 2000 with a budget of 13 crores but it collected 90 crores. Mohabbatein received 12 nominations.

Still, this film plays an important role in teaching and guiding love and peace and how to handle a relationship. This movie also brought different romantic genres. This movie has a different fanbase in SRK fans and for the 90s and 2000s. With heavy dialogues and a massive star cast and because of its strong content, it will always be a fast cult classic.
