The police have recovered the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Both accused individuals are in police custody as the investigation continues. Muskaan Rastogi, along with her partner Sahil Shukla, allegedly murdered her husband, dismembered his body, and sealed the remains in a cement-filled drum at their residence in Meerut’s Indiranagar area.
Muskaan’s parents, Pramod and Kavita, expressed their shock and condemned their daughter’s actions, calling her “unfit for society” and demanding justice for their son-in-law.
“My daughter (Muskaan) murdered her husband (Saurabh). She is a threat to society. I urge others not to take such extreme steps. She deserves to be hanged, and if possible, the execution should be broadcast live,” Muskaan’s father told ANI.
Echoing similar sentiments, Muskaan’s mother said that Saurabh was a good man and called for the death penalty for her daughter. “Saurabh was a good person… We demand justice and want her (Muskaan) to be hanged,” she said.
The police arrested Muskaan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla after filing an FIR and confirmed that a further investigation is underway. According to officials, Saurabh Shukla, a Merchant Navy officer working in London since 2023, had returned to Meerut on March 4 but went missing soon after.
Meerut City SP Ayush Vikram Singh told ANI that Muskaan and Sahil were questioned on suspicion. During interrogation, Sahil confessed that he and Muskaan murdered Saurabh on March 4 by stabbing him. They later chopped his body into pieces, placed them in a drum, and sealed it with cement.
The police have recovered the remains and sent them for a post-mortem. Both accused individuals are in custody as the probe continues.
